Delivery Surcharges
Core
Are you shipping parcels with extra expenses involved? Add our Delivery Surcharges feature to create delivery rates which are applied as a surcharge to specific products.
Contact UsOffering competitive delivery prices can be crucial for the ongoing success of your online store, which is why many retailers offer free shipping in a bid to convert customers and build long-term loyalty. This can be a very successful strategy, however it isn’t always suitable for businesses that sell items with lower profit margins or higher delivery costs, so a popular alternative is to charge a single flat delivery rate across most items.
This approach builds customer confidence in your store as unexpected delivery costs are often cited as a leading cause of basket abandonment, however, if you stock a smaller selection of items that require a higher delivery charge than the majority of your products, you can overcome this by utilising our Delivery Surcharges feature.
With this feature, via your store’s admin system you can create delivery rates which can be applied as a surcharge to specified products, where the default shipping cost needs to be supplemented. For example, this could be required when an item is too large or heavy to be delivered by a standard shipping service, and therefore you need customers to pay an additional fee to cover the extra delivery charge that your business incurs.
