The Pre-Order Split Baskets feature brings a new dynamic to your checkout to improve delivery expectations for your shoppers.
This feature works by recognising when a basket contains one or more product that's available now, along with a pre-order product(s) that cannot be dispatched immediately. At the basket, the shopper will be notified that the basket contains items with different release dates and they can choose to continue to get it delivered when all items in the basket are available, or they can request that the order is split and all items are shipped individually once they are available.
By splitting the order, the shopper is presented with accurate and individual delivery dates and will pay the relevant courier rates for each dispatched parcel.
In addition to the improved functionality of the basket, once the order is placed it will be automatically split in your admin to allow you to assign different order statuses and manage them separately. This can reduce errors within your dispatching team, as essentially, the orders will be actioned separately.
