Google Tag Manager is a free online tool that can enable you to add and update selected snippets of code or tracking pixels - which in this context are referred to as tags - from third party sources on your store. These tags are usually required for the delivery of analytics and marketing services - such as Google Analytics or Google AdWords - however it’s also possible to create tags for custom events if required.

One of the main benefits of Google Tag Manager for online retailers is that it allows tags to be added or edited on your site without the need to modify any core code. This means that the tool can be used directly by eCommerce teams that have some technical knowledge, removing reliance on development resources and enabling you to add some third party functionality directly to your store without input from Visualsoft.

As part of this feature, we will integrate your store with Google Tag Manager to enable you to directly add, edit or remove marketing and measurement tags as required, however please note that you must ensure that any cookies added to your site via the tool are correctly highlighted to your customers via your store’s Cookie Policy.
